We have an excellent opportunity for three senior mental health pharmacists to join our expanding community mental health offer. One role is based within the Community Mental Health Teams in Tameside, and the other two within the Living Well & Access Teams in Bury and Rochdale.
Role Overview
You will work with the Community Mental Health Teams in Tameside as a key contributor to the multi-disciplinary team, supporting safe, effective, and evidence-based treatment for patients with serious and enduring mental illness. In the Living Well & Access Teams, the post-holder will act as a prescriber and be responsible for developing the clinical pharmacy service and medication-related pathways within your borough.
This position offers no dispensary or out-of-hours commitments, providing an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical skills and broaden your mental health knowledge and experience.
Main Responsibilities
1. Deliver the established clinical pharmacy service to the CMHTs in Tameside or manage, organise, and develop the service within your borough's Living Well & Access Teams.
2. Lead, develop, and evaluate specialist clinical mental health pharmacy services in your area.
3. Provide expert pharmaceutical advice and liaise with GPs, practice pharmacists, other healthcare professionals, patients, and carers.
4. Lead on the non-medical prescribing pathway within the Living Well service and act as an independent prescriber, ensuring safe, evidence-based, and cost-effective drug therapy.
5. Provide training to the CMHT / Living Well Team, GPs, and other HCPs on the use of psychotropic medicines.
6. Ensure pharmacy services adhere to guidelines for effective medicines management.
7. Provide cover for other pharmacists as needed.
