We have an exciting opportunity for a Paramedic to join our Primary Care team at HMP Winchester, a Category B Local remand prison located in Central Winchester accommodating approximately 670 male prisoners.
About The Role
HMP Winchester is located in central Winchester and is a Category B Prison that provides primary and acute care to its inmates. The role involves delivering patient‑centred, evidence‑based care in a secure environment.
Hours
37.5 hours per week with a mix of days and night shifts: 7:30 am–9 pm days and 8:30 pm–8 am nights, 2 weeks of days, 2 weeks of nights, weekends 3 days/nights over a 4‑week period.
Salary
Full‑time position with an annual salary up to £48,951 per annum, depending on experience.

What You'll Be Doing
* Provide evidence‑based case management to patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so care is personalised and informed by what matters to them, focusing on emergency and unplanned care for both primary and acute needs.
* Deliver non‑judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
* Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care following our policies, procedures and safeguarding considerations.

Qualifications
* Qualified Paramedic with solid and current experience
* Current professional registration (HCPC)
* Proven post‑registration ambulance experience
* Evidence of continued professional development
* A non‑judgemental and compassionate approach
* Proven experience in Accident & Emergency, Primary Care environments or Minor injuries / illness
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
