Job Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accounts Assistant with a focus on Purchase Ledger to join a busy and collaborative Finance team. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and is looking to develop their finance career.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and update the purchase ledger, including invoices, purchase orders, and GRNs
* Process purchase invoices and staff expense claims in line with company procedures
* Recommend and process supplier payments to ensure compliance with terms and policy
* Carry out cash postings, payment runs, and daily bank reconciliations
* Reconcile supplier and eCommerce payment accounts in coordination with credit control
* Handle and resolve supplier and internal queries efficiently
* Assist with fixed asset register updates, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting
* Review and authorise customer credit notes and assist with invoice queries
* Support broader accountancy tasks, including tax working support and fleet-related admin
* Contribute to the development and improvement of financial systems and processes
What We’re Looking For:
* Previous experience in purchase or sales ledger, or as an Accounts Assistant
* 5 GCSEs grade A-C (or equivalent), including Maths and English - AAT qualification is desirable
* Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and experience using accounting software
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload
* Commercial awareness and a proactive, team-oriented mindset
* Confident, assertive, and motivated to learn and grow
