Job Advert Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Location: Burntisland Salary: Competitive ⏰ Hours: 40 hours, Monday - Friday and 1 in 4 Saturdays The Role We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support the safe and efficient operation of plant and production equipment. This is a hands-on role where you’ll carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), respond to breakdowns, and help improve equipment reliability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities * Carry out mechanical maintenance and repairs safely * Respond to breakdowns and diagnose faults quickly * Complete PPM tasks in line with schedules * Work on hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, bearings, and gearboxes * Support installation and commissioning of equipment * Accurately record maintenance activities * Drive continuous improvement and reduce downtime About You * Time-served Mechanical Apprentice (or equivalent) * Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments * Strong mechanical fault-finding skills * Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems * Proactive, team-oriented, and safety-focused Why Join Us? * Supportive engineering team environment * Varied, hands-on role with diverse equipment * Opportunity to improve plant performance * Ongoing training and development Who we are: BSW Group is the largest timber and forestry business in the UK, with operating divisions spanning the whole supply chain, from tree nurseries and woodland management to sawmilling and pallets.
