Overview
Provide financial business partnering support to corporate core and front line service areas of the Council.
Act as a critical friend delivering insightful financial analysis to support business improvement and change.
Work closely with Strategic Finance Business Partners and the Head of Service to provide financial management support across budget setting, monitoring and closing.
Support management of financial risk to protect the Council's financial health and align planning with Council priorities.
Responsibilities
* Deliver financial business partnering support across the council.
* Provide financial advice and analysis to service areas throughout the core finance cycle.
* Support financial risk management and ensure robust financial planning aligned to priorities.
Qualifications
* Progress towards a relevant professional qualification (e.g., CIPFA, CIMA, MBA, AAT) or equivalent experience.
* Experience delivering high‑quality finance services in a large organisation.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with finance and non‑finance professionals.
* Experience supporting budget managers through core finance processes (budget setting, monitoring, closing).
* Knowledge of the operational context of Local Authorities.
