About the role
The Departmental Administrative Assistant works closely with the Departmental Administrator and departmental staff to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the department.
A key point of contact for the department’s researchers, this is a varied and interesting role that offers the opportunity to gain experience in a wide variety of activities, including organising departmental meetings and events, maintaining research and publication records, supporting HR-related administration, and providing a proactive and flexible administrative support function for departmental colleagues. This role also offers the opportunity to learn about research funding through the provision of an effective financial administration service, supporting the Departmental Administrator in preparing research costings and budget projections, and assisting research groups with purchasing and ordering.
The post is offered part-time at hours per week ( Full Time Equivalent). This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 40% of time on site.

About you
You’ll have experience of providing a successful administrative support function, including experience of credit card reconciliation and knowledge of electronic ordering systems. An understanding of data protection regulations, the ability to maintain confidentiality, and good organisational and interpersonal skills are also essential to this role.
This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.
