A specialist engineering organisation is seeking a Project Manager to support the delivery of high-value engineering projects. Role Overview
As a Project Manager, you will lead engineering projects from concept through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage risk, maintain compliance, and act as a primary interface for customers and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
Project Governance & Leadership

Act as project focal point for technical, schedule, resource, and cost control.

Lead cross-functional teams and agree resource allocation with the management team.
*
Serve as the escalation point for decisions, issues, and risk mitigation.
*
Maintain clear communication with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
*
Report project performance using KPIs for schedule, cost, and quality.
Risk & Quality Management
*
Develop and maintain the project risk register and implement mitigation strategies.
*
Ensure deliverables meet quality expectations through reviews and audits.
Financial & Resource Management
*
Prepare tender documentation and cost estimates.
*
Monitor project costs, report variances, and support financial forecasting.
Planning & Reporting
*
Define test and trial requirements and coordinate with internal teams and customers.
*
Provide subsystem/interface data to prime contractors or subcontractors.
*
Produce accurate project reports in line with contract timelines.
*
Work with production and section heads to schedule tasks and allocate resources.
Technical & Documentation Management
*
Prepare or review Statements of Work for customer approval.
*
Confirm system specifications and engage with customers during development.
*
Coordinate design reviews and certification activities.
*
Support safety and certification work, including hazard analysis and safety case development.
What We’re Looking For

Demonstrated experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
*
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
*
Knowledge of project management methodologies and relevant standards.
*
Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and risks effectively.
*
Project management certification (APM PMQ, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
