Opportunity to gain a range of invaluable skills and experience in technical theatre, sound production, event management, and the performing arts.
As a Graduate Assistant at St. Edwards, you will develop your career and receive training, working under the guidance of highly experienced academic and technical staff.
Your responsibilities will include providing technical support for school events, such as lighting and sound for productions at the North Wall Arts Centre, as well as video streaming or recording events throughout the school.
You will also support the operation of the school's recording studio and monitor pupils using the facilities.
You will assist teachers with A-level Music Technology and academic Music classes, providing technical support for exam pieces in both disciplines.
Whether you are interested in pursuing a career in teaching or another profession, you will be encouraged to attend relevant training courses at the school's expense.
There may also be an opportunity to live in a boarding house as a Resident Tutor.
About You
Graduate Assistants are expected to participate fully in the boarding and co-curricular life of the school. The role is varied and tailored to the individual's personality, enthusiasm, and skills.
Given the technical nature of the role, you should have experience with recording studio software such as Logic, Ableton, or similar, as well as live event work like sound mixing, and experience with rigging, focusing lights, and programming lighting boards.
