Offer description

Optegra has an exciting opportunity for a Rapid Response Healthcare Technician to join our highly skilled and dedicated regional clinical team. This is a full‑time, permanent position supporting three hospitals across the region: Manchester, Preston and Sheffield. The role requires a high level of flexibility and responsiveness, with travel required at a very short notice, either the evening before or on the morning of your shift. As part of the Rapid Response Team, you will not be allocated to a fixed rota. Instead, you will provide vital support across the region, helping teams manage staffing shortages and maintain exceptional patient care standards where support is needed most. In return for your flexibility and commitment, Optegra will award you a highly competitive salary and benefits package, reimbursement of travel expenses, access to fully funded training and development programmes, the opportunity to work alongside exceptional clinical teams across multiple sites and a dynamic, exciting, and rewarding role where no two days are the same. This is an excellent opportunity for an adaptable and motivated individual looking to broaden their clinical experience within a supportive and forward‑thinking business organisation.

The Role

As part of a multi‑disciplinary team, and in alignment with Optegra values, you will ensure a comprehensive level of care provision to all ophthalmic patients, their relatives, or carers, across clinical and non‑clinical care pathways, with an emphasis on quality patient care across all hospitals within the region.

Work alongside other clinical team members and optometrists for outpatient consultations and pre‑assessment of patients.

Follow protocols for documenting and reporting accidents or incidents.

Requirements

* NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent.
* Experience working in a healthcare environment or ophthalmic sector.
* Basic Life Support competence.
* Highly organised, with clear forward planning and ability to flex according to patient needs.
