SPC oversees firms and individuals (supervision), creates and reviews the rules by which they operate (policy) and identifies and remedies ineffective competition in markets (competition). Sitting in the Specialist Directorate, the Financial Crime Market Intervention (FCMI) department provides the FCA with specialist financial crime expertise to support its strategic objective by helping to minimise the risk of regulated businesses being used for purposes connected with financial crime. Role responsibilities Support the Management team and wider department by liaising with internal and external stakeholders organising diary management, secretarial tasks, and general admin Schedule internal and external meetings, arrange on-site visits, prepare digital meeting packs, and handle travel and room bookings like a pro Take charge of uploading, labelling, and managing documents in SharePoint from Egress or other systems, ensuring everything is neat and accessible Provide ad hoc support on exciting projects and initiatives across the department, working closely with FCMI managers and contributing to meaningful work Gain exposure to one of the organisation’s top priorities fighting financial crime while developing PA skills, building relationships, and stretching beyond core admin tasks Skills required Minimum: Proven experience in diary and inbox management, ensuring schedules and communications are well-organised Prior experience in managing documents effectively, including organising, storing, and maintaining accurate records Proven experience demonstrating strong written communication and organisational skills to support smooth operations Essential: Ability to stay focused on objectives and deliver high-quality outcomes within tight deadlines, with strong attention to detail Confident and independent, using initiative and sound judgment while remaining flexible and proactive in approach Collaborative and constructive in working with others, combined with an interest and understanding of the FCA’s work and financial services Benefits 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Hybrid model with up to 60% remote work Non-contributory pension (8–12% depending on age) and life assurance at eight times your salary Private healthcare with Bupa, income protection, and 24/7 Employee Assistance 35 hours of paid volunteering annually A flexible benefits scheme designed around your lifestyle For a full list of our benefits, and our recruitment process as a whole visit our benefits page.
