Requirements Analyst (ICT5) Location: Newforge Lane, Belfast Salary: £35,560 per annum Contract: Temporary About the Role AFBI is embarking on a new and strategic Digital Data and Technology (DDaT) project, designed to explore and demonstrate a cloud-first operating model across the full data lifecycle. This transformative initiative spans five workstreams: Data governance & data management Data catalogue Data engineering Cloud compute Reproducible analytical pipelines We are seeking a diligent and experienced Requirements Analyst to play a pivotal role in this multi-disciplinary team. You will collaborate with scientists, data experts, and technical specialists to capture, analyse and document business requirements, ensuring they align with AFBI's digital strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to influence how AFBI harnesses cloud technology, data governance, and advanced analytics to support world-class research and innovation. Key Responsibilities Engage with stakeholders across scientific and operational areas to gather, analyse and define requirements. Document use cases, personas, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for: Data governance and management processes. Data catalogue interactions. Data engineering, including pipeline monitoring, code quality, and implementation processes. Cloud compute workflows and fulfilment processes. Reproducible Analytical Pipelines (RAPs) and integration with cloud tools. Support the Data Governance Manager in developing policies, processes and frameworks. Translate technical concepts into clear, accessible language for stakeholders and users. Apply agile methodologies and collaborate closely with product owners and delivery teams. Investigate opportunities for service improvements and provide recommendations for design enhancements. Essential Criteria Proven experience as an Analyst in a multi-project environment, covering the full software development lifecycle. Strong background in analysing and documenting complex processes. Skilled in using a variety of methods, tools, and techniques to deliver digital services. Demonstrated ability to investigate issues and opportunities, with clear recommendations for improvement. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical language and concepts to diverse stakeholders. Practical experience of agile and user-centred project delivery Desirable Criteria Qualification in Agile Project Methodology (Scrum / Kanban). Why Join AFBI?
