Overview
NHS Highland is seeking a proactive, innovative community nurse to join the team on the beautiful inner Hebridean island of Gigha. The post holder will relieve the caseload holder, providing 24-hour cover for the nursing needs of the community. A three bedroom furnished house is available to live in while on duty, located next door to the surgery in the middle of the village.
Responsibilities
* Provide 24-hour cover for community nursing needs and act as a first responder for all medical emergencies, working with other agencies to ensure a coordinated emergency response.
* Work closely with Kintyre Medical Group to provide a service to the practice population, including drop-in clinics, structured chronic disease management, and recall.
* Carry out comprehensive clinical assessments and utilise a wide range of clinical experience.
* Work with the wider community team based at Campbeltown Hospital for support and development.
Qualifications and Skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
* Experience of working from PGDs is required; a prescribing qualification is desirable.
Additional Information
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHS Highland is unable to provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
