This role is ideal for a qualified accountant or experienced finance professional looking for their next senior challenge in a commercially driven SME environment.
What the Finance Manager job involves
Full ownership of monthly management accounts, budgeting, and reporting
Prepare and analyse P&L, variances, and cash flow forecasts
Oversee VAT returns, PAYE, bank reconciliations, and liaise with external accountants
Evaluate investments, cost-saving opportunities, and supplier contracts
Support long-term growth through insightful financial planning and analysis
Supervise of a team member and support wider business operations
This is a hands-on role that demands strong financial control and the ability to work both strategically and operationally.
Skills required
Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or Qualified by experience with strong SME experience.
Excellent understanding of cash flow, multi-revenue models, and seasonal income
Proficiency in Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar accounting platforms
Strong eye for detail with a proactive, adaptable mindset and the confidence to work independently and influence decision-making
