Overall Purpose of the Role
An experienced Supply Chain Quality Engineer is required to support a major redevelopment at a secure UK defence site in Plymouth. Due to the sensitive nature of the site,
BPSS security clearance
is required (the process can take up to 8 weeks).
Eligibility:
Candidates must hold a passport from an EU, NATO, Five Eyes, or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.
Key Tasks and Accountabilities
* Undertake initial assessments of potential supply chain organisations, including assessment/audit visits.
* Review supply chain ITPs.
* Liaise between the project supply chain and site representatives on the timing of Hold/Witness inspections and surveillance activities.
* Inspect works at notified points, conduct surveillances, and witness testing.
* Assist with investigation and resolution of specific quality issues.
* Attend quality meetings as required.
* Deliver quality training modules to supply chain staff.
* Carry out other relevant duties as needed.
* Conduct factory/facility visits to monitor supplier performance against the ITP and the design.
* Assist in the creation and maintenance of supply chain maps.
* Draft regular surveillance reports and update the project on supplier performance.
* Ensure data evidencing achievement of quality objectives and targets is produced and maintained.
* Ensure the project QMS is robustly implemented.
* Ensure supply chain partners maintain a documented QMS that meets contractual requirements and supports self-certification.
* Lead/coordinate quality meetings to maintain a strong quality culture, enable performance reporting, KPI tracking, and trend identification.
* Support the project team and supply chain partners in developing and implementing contract-/activity-specific KPIs.
* Assist the construction team with reviewing and implementing ITPs, supply chain quality plans, quality control procedures, and improvement plans; ensure timely, compliant close-out of NCRs, CARs, and observations.

Who We're Looking For
* Academic Qualifications:
Civil Engineering, Quality, or Construction-related qualification (HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng).
* CSCS:
White PQP/AQP.
* Experience:
Internal auditing and factory/facility visits.
