We are looking for a visionary and driven Curriculum Team Manager to lead the strategic development and operational delivery of our Business curriculum. In this role, you will:
* Lead and manage a team of dedicated educators to deliver outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment.
* Drive curriculum innovation aligned with local and regional employer needs, including T Levels, Apprenticeships, and Higher Education.
* Monitor and improve performance against key metrics such as achievement, retention, and progression.
* Ensure compliance with quality assurance frameworks including Ofsted and awarding bodies.
* Build strong partnerships with employers to enhance work experience and employability outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
* Provide effective leadership and line management to curriculum staff within the Business department.
* Monitor and improve performance against key metrics: attendance, punctuality, retention, achievement, and progression.
* Lead on the development and implementation of operational plans aligned with the College’s strategic objectives.
* Chair curriculum and cross-college meetings to support quality improvement and innovation.
Curriculum Quality & Compliance
* Ensure all programmes meet internal and external quality standards, including Ofsted, QAA, and awarding body requirements.
* Oversee the development and implementation of Schemes of Learning, Assessment Plans, and Work Experience strategies.
* Monitor compliance with college policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, and equality and diversity.
Curriculum Planning & Development
* Lead curriculum planning and review processes to ensure relevance, progression, and responsiveness to labour market needs.
* Support the development of a broad and inclusive curriculum offer, including T Levels, Apprenticeships, Adult Education, and Higher Education.
* Embed English, Maths, digital skills, and employability across all programmes.
Strategic Communication & Collaboration
* Ensure effective communication of strategic and operational priorities to staff and students.
* Collaborate with Senior and Middle Leadership Teams (SLT/SMT), including Quality, Student Services, MIS, HR, Finance, and External Relations.
* Contribute to the College’s annual operating plan, including budget and resource planning.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
* Analyse and report on curriculum performance, identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
* Develop and implement action plans with measurable targets and timelines.
* Prepare for and contribute to internal and external inspections and audits.
External Engagement & Partnerships
* Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, industry bodies, and community stakeholders.
* Promote work experience, industry placements, and employer-led projects to enhance learner employability.
* Support business development initiatives and income generation opportunities.

Desirable:
* Experience of managing staff performance
* Knowledge of local and regional economic priorities and skills needs.
Skills and Experience
* Minimum of two years’ teaching experience in the relevant subject area (Business).
* PGCE or equivalent Level 5+ teaching qualification.
* Experience of teaching across a range of levels (e.g., Level 2 to Level 5).
* Proven ability to use digital learning technologies to enhance teaching and learning.
* Strong understanding of Safeguarding, Prevent Duty, and student welfare responsibilities.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Competent in using Management Information Systems (MIS) for monitoring and reporting.
* Ability to influence and support decision-making at both strategic and operational levels.
