Salary from £60,000 per annum (DOE) plus 10% Bonus

As Category Manager, you'll be part of the UK Procurement team, supporting their vision to lead market strategy, governance, and policies, delivering value through strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier management.
This senior role involves supporting Category Specialists in developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies.
How you’ll help us make health happen:
* Manage your specific category, overseeing total UK expenditure to ensure competitive and cost-effective sourcing that meets business needs.
* Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives to meet targets.
* Lead supplier selection, qualification, and relationship management using contemporary techniques.
* Develop and maintain a category plan with a clear savings pipeline.
* Align category plans with organizational goals by understanding the strategic intent of Bupa UK and other Market Units.
* Lead contract negotiations and develop negotiation strategies.
* Represent procurement in Category Board projects and meetings.
* Introduce innovation and continuous improvement to maximize savings and efficiencies.
Key Skills / Qualifications:
* MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification (please specify in your application)
* Experience and expertise in category management within a related industry
* Proven track record of delivering savings through strategic planning
* Senior-level negotiation skills with fact-based planning
* Knowledge of industry legislation relevant to this role
* Contract and supplier relationship management expertise
* Experience working with stakeholders for successful commercial outcomes
* Proficiency in drafting contracts and understanding contract law
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
