The post holder will provide specialist technical advice for the team and support the strategy with key technical input.

Responsibilities include maintaining the efficient operation of 24/7 infrastructure systems, including backup, monitoring, and fault rectification for Desktop and Server hardware and software. The role involves:

1. Collaborating with Systems, Network, Applications, Development, and Service Desk teams to diagnose faults and deliver infrastructure services.
2. Ensuring all infrastructure services are installed and maintained according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Secure System Policies (SSPs).
3. Maintaining the integrity of HB User and Computer accounts, domain configurations, infrastructure application servers, and hosted services.
4. Presenting issues and solutions related to complex infrastructure problems.
5. Providing technical advice and communicating complex server and client infrastructure information to peers within infrastructure, network, and service desk teams.
6. Managing services, resources, and policies in accordance with SOPs and SSPs.
7. Installing, maintaining, and upgrading IT equipment following departmental procedures.

The main duties include:

* Analyzing, investigating, and resolving complex hardware and software problems related to servers and PCs, server OS and applications, software configurations, network communication issues, and event logs.
* Ensuring work does not impact the availability of critical systems.
* Assessing user requirements and configuring hardware, software, and training accordingly.
* Planning and implementing infrastructure projects such as storage and virtualization.

Qualifications include a relevant IT degree or equivalent experience, professional certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Citrix, VMWare, ITIL), and experience in troubleshooting within large organizations.
