Level 2 Teaching Assistant – Vocational SEND School (14–19) Hull, HU1 Full-Time | Term Time Only Day rate: £90 to £115 a day GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Level 2 Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist vocational SEND provision supporting young people aged 14–19. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of learners with additional needs, helping them develop the academic, vocational and life skills required for adulthood. The Role as a Level 2 Teaching Assistant: As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide 1:1 and small group support across vocational and classroom-based sessions. Support learners in developing independence, employability skills and confidence Work collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt learning materials and activities Implement behaviour support strategies in line with EHCPs and school policies Support students with emotional regulation and social development Encourage engagement in practical vocational subjects such as construction, catering, motor vehicle, hair & beauty, or similar pathways Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour at all times The Ideal Level 2 Teaching Assistant will have: A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) Experience working with young people with SEND, particularly SEMH and ASC A calm, patient and resilient approach Strong behaviour management skills The ability to build professional, trusting relationships A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners An understanding of EHCPs and differentiated learning Experience within alternative provision, specialist schools, or vocational settings is highly desirable.
