Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Network Proxy Engineer to manage and support enterprise proxy services across cloud and on premises environments. This role focuses on maintaining secure web gateway operations and optimising proxy configurations to ensure reliable and secure outbound traffic handling. The position plays a key role in managing proxy platforms, maintaining PAC file logic, and supporting secure web access policies to maintain consistent connectivity and security across the organisation’s network infrastructure.
What you will do:
* Maintain and support enterprise proxy platforms including Zscaler, Blue Coat, or equivalent technologies.
* Troubleshoot proxy service issues affecting outbound web traffic and connectivity.
* Develop, test, and optimise PAC and WPAC files to manage traffic steering and exception handling.
* Configure and maintain secure web gateway policies including URL filtering and access controls.
* Support SSL inspection processes and manage certificate related configurations within proxy services.
* Implement and maintain authentication flows for proxy access and policy enforcement.
* Analyse web access issues and investigate routing behaviour across proxy infrastructure.
* Document proxy configurations, policies, and operational procedures to maintain accurate technical records.
* Contribute to incident management and change management processes related to proxy services.
Qualifications
* Experience managing enterprise proxy platforms such as Zscaler, Blue Coat, or equivalent secure web gateway technologies.
* Strong experience developing and maintaining PAC file logic using JavaScript.
* Solid understanding of HTTP and HTTPS protocols and web traffic behaviour.
* Knowledge of SSL inspection, certificate management, and proxy security controls.
* Familiarity with proxy chaining, traffic routing, and outbound access control policies.
* Experience troubleshooting web access issues within enterprise network environments.
* Strong understanding of secure web gateway architecture and outbound traffic management.
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills within enterprise networking and security environments.
