We are currently looking for an experienced, dedicated Safety, Health and Environmental Manager, who will work alongside the Senior Management team to maintain the company health & safety strategy. You will lead a small team to ensure a safe working environment for all people and property affected by our operations.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Providing assistance, support and guidance to Directors, site, and management teams in implementing Company SHE Policy, along with all relevant and applicable SHE legislation, best practice, and innovation.
* Providing advice and guidance to site and management teams on SHE matters and issues.
* Providing the maximum level of assurance to our clients regarding their projects.
* Striving to continually improve SHE practices across the business.
* Carrying out routine health, safety & environmental audits across sites.
* Supporting and completing Safe System of Work documents including, but not limited to, RAMS, Construction Phase Plans and COSHH documents.
* Liaising with clients' site management and SHE Representatives on site regarding improvements or issues.
* Thorough investigation of any accidents, incidents or service strikes from beginning through to completion.
* Reviewing site processes and actions, providing solutions for improvement wherever possible.
* Supporting pre-construction team on the SHE requirements for upcoming projects.
* Training and supporting regional trainee Health & Safety Advisors.
* Leading SHE Advisors, trainee SHE Advisors and responsible for Health & Safety Systems, Processes and Procedures.
The Successful Applicant will:
* Hold a NEBOSH or Level 6 NVQ in Health & Safety.
* Hold a valid CSCS Card.
* Hold a Full UK Drivers Licence.
* Have experience working with Contractors and Principle Designers on-site, ensuring projects run in accordance with business planning and CDM requirements.
* Have experience leading incident investigations, and developing thorough action plans, driving these to completion.
* Have experience administering workplace audits, risk assessments and inspections and evidence of recommended improvements.
* Be GDPR competent.
* Have the ability to influence, engage and coach key internal and external stakeholders.
* Have the ability and foresight to multi-task based on departmental and wider business needs, planning, and shifting priorities where appropriate in fast-paced environment.
* Have the ability to build and maintain long-term external relationships, prioritising communication and collaboration on projects and in their everyday work.
* Execute their objectives with efficiency and effectiveness, continually monitoring and measuring the progress of outcomes.
* Be resilient and professional with a strong work ethic.
* Capably handle challenges and have the ability to deal with disagreements, plan their work, feedback where gaps are identified, and make improvements where necessary.
* Can demonstrate key leadership qualities and capabilities, with strong conflict resolution skills
