Overview
Join Tesco as a Customer Delivery Driver - Peterborough Extra. This role involves delivering shopping and providing excellent customer service on the road, with flexibility in hours and location coverage.
Responsibilities
* Delivering your part of our customer shopping trip by ensuring the van and trays are clean and tidy.
* Leaving the back yard clean and picking up litter as needed.
* Ensuring trays are washed as part of the tray wash process.
* Loading the van, checking its roadworthiness, and communicating any changes to customers, including substitutions and refunds where appropriate.
* Taking care of products/deliveries as if they were your own and delivering within the customer’s time slot.
* Calling the customer before arriving if early and contacting the store if you are running late by 30 minutes or more.
Requirements
* A valid UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
* Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and provide excellent customer service.
* Warm and welcoming interactions with customers and colleagues, with an ability to understand customer needs.
* Ability to respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace store changes.
* Energetic and motivated to deliver beyond expectations while balancing home and work life.
Pay, Hours & Availability
Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 per hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location. New colleagues are offered a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with options to work as few as 12 hours if desired. Availability windows are published, and contracted hours are scheduled with three weeks’ notice. We strive to support flexibility and will consider close matches to advertised times.
