Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated nurse passionate about palliative and end-of-life care to join the Children's Specialist Palliative Care Team. Working alongside the Clinical Lead, you will contribute to clinical practice, education, research, audit, and the implementation of national guidelines. The team provides specialist advice and support to children, young people, and their families, collaborating closely with community nursing, rapid response, and acute care teams to ensure high-quality palliative care throughout the journey. The team offers a 24/7 service for symptom management and family-centered care planning, including end-of-life and bereavement support. It is desirable that you hold an Independent Non-Medical Prescribing qualification and have a good understanding of symptom control. Advanced communication skills are essential. Flexible working hours will be considered at interview.
Main Duties
You will work as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team to facilitate the best quality of life for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. This involves holistic assessments, care planning, education, and support for children and their families.

Person Specification
* First Level Registered Nurse
* Degree in children's nursing or equivalent
* Evidence of continued education
* Independent supplementary prescriber or equivalent
Essential experience includes relevant paediatric palliative care, symptom management at end-of-life, multidisciplinary working, and teaching. Skills required include advanced clinical knowledge, caseload management, excellent communication, leadership, research understanding, and IT proficiency.
