New Directions is proud to work alongside some of the largest and most respected schools across Leeds. We are currently recruiting Primary Teachers for daily and long-term cover across Key Stage 1 classes.
This opportunity is open to both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers who are passionate about inspiring young learners and shaping their educational journey.
What We’re Looking For
We want dedicated and creative teachers who can provide exciting learning environments that help children reach their developmental milestones. You’ll use a variety of teaching methods—artistic expression, educational play, and storytelling—to build foundational life skills and prepare pupils for the next stage of formal education.
Key Responsibilities
1. Create engaging learning resources Research and source differentiated materials tailored to pupils’ diverse needs.
2. Plan and deliver lessons Be organised and adaptable, encouraging active student participation.
3. Manage the classroom effectively Maintain a positive, safe, and orderly environment while promoting good behaviour.
4. Assess student progress Mark, monitor, and provide constructive feedback using effective assessment strategies.
5. Use technology confidently Incorporate interactive whiteboards, online resources, and educational apps into lessons.
6. Stay curriculum-aware Keep up to date with changes and developments in the national curriculum.
7. Engage in school life Participate in events and activities, including those held during evenings or weekends.
8. Collaborate with colleagues Work flexibly, especially within smaller schools, to support the wider teaching team.
