The Role We are looking for an experienced Information Governance Lead to join our small and friendly Information Governance Team. This is a newly created role and you will require strong records management experience along with a proactive and resourceful approach. You may also be tasked with covering additional aspects of Information Governance (IG), such as assisting in reviewing and updating IG policies and operational documents, collaborating with Directorates to raise awareness and integrate end-to-end records management life cycles and updated Information Asset Registers throughout the business. Person Specification To be successful in this role you will need the below essential attributes, experience, skills and knowledge. Essential Experience, Skills and Knowledge: Lead criterion: Experienced information/records professional with practical expertise in digital records and/or information management environments. Lead criterion: Experience of and ability to manage and lead organisational change from an information/records management perspective. Lead criterion: Experience of and ability to set up and create databases and spreadsheets to review and monitor workflows/templates with minimum supervision. Experience in using systems such as Excel, SharePoint, EDRMS and Microsoft Teams as well as being comfortable with using new, innovative and emerging technology, such as AI, for current and future operating models. Proficient in end-to-end records management, including understanding the lifecycle of records and the role of Information Asset Registers in effectively managing and protecting information assets, enabling Information Asset Owners' to understand their value. Membership of one of the Knowledge and Information Management professional bodies (CILIP, IRMS or ARA) or relevant work experience. Knowledge of relevant legislation, including Freedom of Information Act, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Public Records Act 1958.
