We are looking for 3 SEND Teachers for our new (P/MLD) school in Burton on Trent, located only a 5-minute walk from Burton train station. This will be a Specialist Independent School for pupils aged 7-18 years with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (P/MLD)
This a full-time permanent role due to start in April 2026.
Salary: £36,000
About The Guildhall School
Bayleaf Care is delighted to announce the creation of The Guild Hall School, a brand-new, purpose-built special school designed to meet the needs of young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
Opening in April 2026, The School will provide outstanding education and care for up to 40 pupils aged 7-18, all of whom require 1:1 support. Our curriculum will be tailored to each learner's individual needs, focusing on communication, independence, sensory learning, life skills, and functional literacy and numeracy. We will draw on frameworks such as EQUALS, ASDAN, Oak Academy, and AQA.
The Role
As a SEND teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the identity, ethos, and success of The School from day one.
· To secure high quality teaching, effective use of resources and improve standards of learning and achievement for all pupils in consultation with the Headteacher;
· Teach a very broad range of lessons, focusing on core skills like reading, writing, and maths, but also life skills, social-emotional development, and highly adapted subjects, often blending subjects and using multi-sensory, adaptive methods to meet the diverse needs of our students, from autism and dyslexia to giftedness, making every day unique.
· Embed trauma-informed and our PACE therapeutic practice throughout the school
Work closely with Bayleaf's residential and therapeutic teams to ensure continuity of care and education
About You
We are seeking an experienced, inspirational, and compassionate SEND Teacher with a passion for (P/MLD) education. You will have:
Essential:
· Proven experience within a P/MLD or complex SEND setting
· Experience in safeguarding.
