Role Overview: The Business Development Executive will play a pivotal role in driving new sales and developing cross-sells of new products to existing customers.
This position involves 90% telephone sales, complemented by face-to-face customer visits and tradeshow appearances.
Reporting to the Commercial Director, the successful candidate will join a team of five other salespeople.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Education: Ideally a 2.1 or 1st University Degree in a Science Subject, given the highly educated clientele.
- Experience: At least 2 years in a Technical Sales role, with the ability to discuss demonstrable successes.
- Language: Excellent oral and written English skills are essential.
- Numeracy: Ideally GCSE Maths Grade C or higher, as the role involves quoting customers in different currencies.
A short numeracy exercise will be part of the interview process.
- Location: Candidates should live within a commutable distance from Bourne End, SL8 or be willing to relocate.
- IT Skills: Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel is required.
- Mobility: A full drivers license is necessary, along with a willingness to work overseas for customer visits or international tradeshows.
Preferred Skills:
- Languages: A non-English European language would be advantageous.
- IT Skills: Prior experience with CRM systems is beneficial.
- Experience: Previous experience in the Medical/Healthcare sector is a plus.
