Role Overview
Service: Renfrewshire Learning Disabilities
Based: Erskine
Hours: Part‑Time – 16 hours weekends only (10 am–2 pm)
Salary: £24,242 – £25,264 (pro‑rata)
Contract: Permanent
About the role
We are looking for a passionate Support Practitioner to provide care and support to vulnerable people with learning and physical disabilities across Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire. You will work in a demanding, emotionally rewarding environment, helping individuals achieve their personal, social, educational and domestic aspirations in a person‑centred, outcome‑focused manner.
Key responsibilities
* Work with individuals to provide practical and emotional support and encourage achievement of personal outcomes.
* Assist with keeping safe, meaningful activities, community involvement, physical health, relationships, emotional health and wellbeing.
* Collaborate with Safeguarding and relevant external agencies (Social Work Department, Community Learning Disability Teams, Housing Associations etc.) to ensure fully met support needs.
* Involve families, friends, health and social work professionals, advocacy services and staff members in the development and review of personal life plans.
Qualifications & skills
* No previous working experience required; full training will be provided.
* IT skills are required for all vacancies.
* Successful candidates will be required to register with the SSSC within 6 months of start date.
