Head of IT
We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Head of IT to lead and evolve a complex, multi-site technology environment within a fast-paced, high-profile organisation.
This is a senior leadership opportunity responsible for delivering secure, innovative, and resilient technology solutions that support performance operations, customer experience, and commercial success. The role spans infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital transformation, data systems, and operational support across multiple business functions and live event environments.
The Opportunity
As Head of IT, you will develop and implement a forward-looking technology strategy aligned with organisational objectives. You will lead a dedicated IT team, manage significant budgets, and ensure all systems perform seamlessly — particularly during live events and peak operational periods.
You will act as a key strategic partner to senior leadership, ensuring technology enables growth, efficiency, insight, and exceptional service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
IT Strategy & Leadership
Develop and deliver a comprehensive IT roadmap aligned to operational and commercial priorities.
Lead, mentor, and develop the IT function, embedding high performance and accountability.
Manage IT budgets, procurement, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations.
Infrastructure & Operations
Oversee hardware, software, networking, cloud services, and on-premises infrastructure across multiple sites.
Ensure high availability of critical systems during live events and business-critical periods.
Maintain resilient and scalable systems supporting operational and administrative functions.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
Implement and continuously enhance cybersecurity frameworks and monitoring.
Ensure compliance with data protection and regulatory requirements (including GDPR).
Lead risk assessments, security audits, and disaster recovery planning.
Performance & Data Systems
Support advanced operational and data platforms, ensuring effective integration and performance.
Enable high-quality data capture, reporting, and insight generation for decision-making.
Work closely with operational teams to ensure technology enhances performance outcomes.
Digital & Customer Experience
Lead digital transformation initiatives to improve customer engagement and operational efficiency.
Oversee live event technology delivery, ensuring seamless end-user experience.
Identify and implement innovative technologies that modernise infrastructure and services.
Business Systems & Support
Manage core business applications including ERP/finance systems, CRM platforms, HR systems, and collaboration tools.
Ensure responsive, service-focused IT support across the organisation.
Oversee secure onboarding and offboarding processes, including access management.
About You
Essential Experience
Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role within a complex, multi-site organisation.
Strong expertise in infrastructure, networking, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity.
Experience managing significant IT budgets and delivering strategic technology initiatives.
Strong project management capability with experience delivering large-scale systems implementations.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced, high-visibility environments.
Desirable
Experience within live event, entertainment, sports, or customer-facing venues.
Knowledge of integrated operational technologies, POS systems, and access control systems.
Professional certifications such as ITIL, CISSP, Prince2, or equivalent.
