The Opportunity
We're looking for a highly skilled Senior Procurement Specialist to play a pivotal role in delivering both strategic and operational procurement across a diverse portfolio of goods, works, and services.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead high-value procurement projects, influence business-wide commercial strategy, and drive measurable value - including cost savings, service improvements, and meaningful social impact.
The role is initially available as a 12 month fixed term contract, and as a Senor Procurement Specialist you'll work at the heart of the organisation, partnering with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure best-in-class procurement practices, compliance with evolving UK legislation, and innovative supply chain solutions.
Your main duties and responsibilities
Leading and managing complex, high-value public procurement projects (including above-threshold competitions exceeding £2m)
Developing and executing procurement strategies across multiple categories of spend
Running compliant tender processes in line with the Procurement Act 2023 and Procurement Regulations 2024
Negotiating and drafting robust commercial contracts that deliver value, minimise risk, and support long-term partnerships
Managing Framework Agreements and Dynamic Markets
Driving value through detailed spend analysis, contract performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
Building strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders and supply partners
Supporting contract management activities, including performance reviews, innovation discussions, and issue resolution
Embedding social value and sustainability into procurement activities
Contributing to procurement governance, compliance, and continuous improvement
Supporting training, knowledge sharing, and the development of procurement capability across the organisationWhat We're Looking For
Proven experience delivering compliant public sector procurements (above and below threshold) using a variety of routes to market
Strong knowledge of UK procurement legislation, including the Procurement Act 2023 and Public Contracts Regulations
Demonstrated success in achieving value for money and delivering social value outcomes
Experience negotiating and managing a wide range of commercial contracts
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret spend data and performance metrics
Experience using e-procurement systems and contract management tools
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environmentQualifications & Experience
CIPS Level 4 (minimum) or working towards MCIPS (desirable)
Relevant experience in procurement, contract management, or commercial roles
Solid understanding of key legislation such as:
Public procurement regulations
Social Value Act
(Desirable) TUPE and Section 20 requirements
