About the Role
Due to business growth we are creating an exciting new role to support our 3 retail locations. The post holder will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance across our business. As a Financial Accountant, you'll report to the Directors and support efficient financial operations and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
· Process and record supplier invoices promptly and accurately.
· Prepare VAT returns and manage quarterly submissions.
· Support the year-end accounts process (including audits and preparation of statutory accounts).
· Reconcile ledgers, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate balance sheet schedules.
· Handle VAT, PAYE, and other routine compliance requirements.
· Work closely with the General Manager and Store Managers to support budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting.
· Support improvements to financial controls, systems, and workflows.
Essential Criteria
· Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or currently working towards qualification.
· A minimum of 3 years previous experience working in a similar role or Accountancy Practice
· Strong attention to detail with excellent numerical accuracy.
· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
· Excellent interpersonal communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
· Competent in IT i.e. Microsoft office, and in particular, extensive experience with Excel
· Highly organised with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and good working knowledge of accounting/ERP systems (e.g., Sage, Xero, etc.).
· Ability to manage workload independently while collaborating effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
