We are looking for a highly-capable Project Engineer to join Transcal Limited, based in Livingston, West Lothian Scotland.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of strategic and tactical activities for implementing operational initiatives, designed to exceed customer expectations of product performance, quality, cost, and delivery.
The salary range for this position is £35,000-55,000 p.a. (DOE)
Role outline
Lead internal reviews with cross functional teams combining design, sales, finance, purchasing, production & quality.
Liaise with suppliers to manage and control supply chain to ensure correct material provision.
Develop and maintain project plan to ensure projects are on time, ability to escalate issues if required.
Maintain excellent communication skills.
Take ownership of major projects, developing clear objectives to build accountability across the teams and ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
Define and manage a commodity plan for each project including design and manufacturing lead-times showing an alignment to given product launch timing.
Ability to manage spend to ensure that the project can be completed within the available budget.
Must be able to present technical information, write technical reports.
Driving licence required to visit suppliers & travel to Transcal manufacturing sites across the UK.
Ability to understand technical product information along with DFMEA & product design processes.
Create product design verification plans and validation testing.
Requirements
Delivery of components from concept design to production. Including product development & testing manufacturing & after sales.
Educated to Degree level in an engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant experience in a relevant industry.
Technical expertise in automotive components.
Experience of planning, managing, and delivering projects, on quality and on schedule including maintaining effective budget
Working knowledge and application of engineering & Quality methods DFMEA, APQP
Work planning, Issues Management and Performance reporting.
Previous experience in Manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

Mon - Friday: 8.30 to 17.00
