Payroll Manager A leading UK accountancy and advisory firm is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee the delivery of high‑quality, accurate and compliant payroll services to a diverse client portfolio. This position plays a key role in team leadership, operational excellence, and the continued development of the firm’s payroll offering. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop the payroll team, supporting performance management and professional growth Build a high‑performance culture focused on quality, accountability, and technical excellence. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of payroll and taxation legislation, ensuring all services remain compliant and industry‑leading. Identify and implement opportunities to enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency, workflows, and processes. Conduct regular quality reviews to ensure governance and compliance standards are consistently met. Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and regular service meetings. Contribute to strategic growth initiatives with both new and existing clients. Skills & Experience Proven experience managing and developing payroll teams. Strong technical knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements. Excellent communication and relationship‑management skills across all levels. Demonstrated ability to oversee team workflows and meet strict deadlines. Skilled in handling and resolving payroll‑related disputes effectively. Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
