Teaching Assistant – Early Years (EYFS)

On behalf of a well-established independent school in S44, we are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team. The school has recently invested in a full refurbishment of its EYFS provision, offering a modern, well-resourced environment that supports high-quality early education.
About the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support teaching and learning within the Early Years setting. This includes providing general classroom support as well as targeted support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The role requires an individual who can follow direction effectively, while also demonstrating initiative and the ability to respond to the varying needs of young children.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of engaging, developmentally appropriate learning activities
* Provide one-to-one and small group support, including for pupils with SEND
* Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
* Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of resources
* Observe and report on children’s progress where appropriate
* Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability within a dynamic classroom setting
Essential Requirements
* A minimum Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification is essential for this role
* Ability to take instruction and work effectively as part of a team
* Confidence to use initiative when supporting children’s learning
* A flexible, positive, and proactive approach
* A genuine passion for working with young children
* Commitment to supporting all learners, including those with SEND
