Lour Farms - Farm Foreman
Due to the retirement of a long-standing member of staff, Lour Farms seeks to recruit a forward thinking, dedicated & hard-working foreman to lead a small and committed team.
Lour Farms is a private family-owned estate in Angus, Scotland which extends to 2000 acres of arable land with an excellent infrastructure and machinery maintained to the highest of standards.
The estate encompasses a wide range of agricultural activities, including cereal production, seed potato production for the home and export markets and a 195 suckler cow herd. Other diverse income streams enhance this beautiful estate.
This key role serves as the primary point of contact between the manager and farm staff, requiring a forward-thinking approach and strong common sense. The successful candidate will take charge of daily operations by instructing staff on work plans and orders, ensuring they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Excellent communication skills are essential.
The successful candidate must have-
* The confidence and ability to lead, motivate & work with a small team
* A presence with a positive outlook to every task
* Experience in seed potato production
* Excellent workshop skills with an enthusiastic attitude to scheduled maintenance
* A strong ability to prioritise tasks and plan ahead
* An appetite to be at the forefront of GPS and machinery technology
