A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the P&P Business Support & Innovation team to support our farming projects.
This role is a fixed term contract to 31 March 2026 and could be considered on a secondment basis.
The postholder will be responsible for supporting delivery of the Shared Prosperity funded Agri Support & Innovation Programme within funding parameters and successfully achieve contracted outputs and outcomes. The role will also provide support to Farming Partnerships supported by the team and events.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Agriculture Innovation Knowledge Exchange Manager in liaising with farmers, farm business advisors and agricultural specialists, and with research to identify and broker the appropriate support to farm business to maximise opportunities for resilience, growth and innovation, in addition to supporting the Programme Manager.
A good understanding of the economic landscape in Devon and the current challenges and opportunities in the food and farming sector is desirable. The post holder will take on responsibility from the outset, requiring the successful candidate to be flexible with a willingness to embrace a forward thinking and dynamic team environment.
The successful candidate will ideally also have extensive experience in project delivery / or business engagement and support. Due to the nature of the role is it essential that you also have:
1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience of partnership working and stakeholder engagement.
2. Experience with organising events.
3. Exceptional organisational skills and time management.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including newsletters and websites.
5. Spreadsheet use and financial record keeping.
6. Ability to use Microsoft office and be familiar with social media in a business context.
