Salary Options
Option 1 – Shift-Based Deputy Manager
* £16.32 per hour
* Enhanced weekend rate paid at Time + 1/3
* £70 per sleep-in
* Contracted 160–165 hours per month
* Overtime available
* Sleep-ins dependent on the needs of the service
Estimated Earnings: Based on 160 hours per month and 10 sleep-ins per month:
* Basic Salary: £31,334 per annum
* Sleep-ins: £8,400 per annum
* Total Estimated Earnings: £39,734 per annum
* Weekend enhancements and overtime paid in addition
Option 2 – Off-Shift Deputy Manager
* Management-focused role
* Typically office-based and operationally focused
* Standard management hours
* Reduced requirement for direct shift work and sleep-ins
* Salary discussed at interview
The Home
This 3-bed Ofsted-rated Good children's home supports young people with significant and complex mental health needs, including EBD, autism, self‑harm presentations, and suicide risk.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Manager in day‑to‑day leadership of the home and assume operational responsibility in their absence.
* Demonstrate strong knowledge and practical experience in care planning, case management, staff supervisions, Regulation 44 reporting, risk assessments, education planning, working with multidisciplinary teams, acting as key worker for young people, and understanding children's home legislation.
* Ensure high standards of care, safeguarding, compliance, and positive outcomes for young people.
Requirements
* Minimum 2 years’ experience within an Ofsted Registered Children’s Residential Home.
* Experience supporting young people with EBD, autism, or complex mental health needs.
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
* Strong leadership capability with experience supporting or supervising teams.
* Confident in managing compliance, care planning, and operational standards.
