Paralegal (Commercial Property)
Location: Stamford, Lincolnshire
Salary: Dependent on experience
Hours: Full time, Monday-Friday, 9.00am-5.15pm (36.25 hours per week)
A well-established and respected law firm is seeking an Experienced Commercial Property Paralegal to join its busy team in Stamford. This is a great opportunity to work on a wide variety of commercial property transactions and develop your expertise in a supportive and professional environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will work on a broad range of matters, including:
* Liaising with clients and handling enquiries
* Assisting with leasehold and freehold acquisitions and disposals
* Drafting and reviewing leases
* Carrying out due diligence, including title investigation and responding to enquiries
* Undertaking and reporting on property searches
* Liaising with agents and utility companies in relation to easements and transfers
* Preparing auction packs
* Managing exchange, completion, and post-completion tasks, including Stamp Duty Land Tax, Companies House filings, and Land Registry registrations
* Ensuring balances are cleared and files are closed at the conclusion of matters
Additional Responsibilities
* Delivering ongoing service to existing clients
* Supporting colleagues to develop new business opportunities
* Contributing to the growth of the Commercial Property department and encouraging cross-referrals within the firm
* Meeting fee income targets and objectives
* Keeping up to date with changes in commercial property law and practice
* Maintaining and enhancing legal skills through ongoing professional development
* Managing financial aspects of matters, including billing and collection of monies on account
* Recording work and time accurately
* Ensuring all work is carried out in line with quality and risk management procedures
About You
Essential:
* Law degree or equivalent work-based experience
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and strong IT skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong planning and organisational skills
* Confidence in managing your own workload and meeting deadlines
* High level of integrity and attention to detail
Desirable:
* Previous experience in a law firm, particularly in commercial property work
* Knowledge of case management systems
* Understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules and Money Laundering Regulations
* Experience using Visual Files case management software
