SEN Cover Supervisor

We are seeking a confident and compassionate SEN Cover Supervisor to join a special needs school in Kidderminster, supporting students with autism, communication needs, dyslexia, and anxiety-related barriers to learning.
In this role, you will supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring continuity of learning while supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development in a structured and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and manage classes in the absence of the teacher
Deliver pre-set lesson plans and ensure students remain on task
Provide individual and small group support to students with SEN
Support behaviour management in line with school policies
Encourage positive engagement and participation in learning
Assist with communication, social interaction, and independence skills
Work closely with teaching staff and SENCO to support student progress
Skills & Qualifications
GCSE Maths & English (Grade 4/C or above)
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (e.g. ASD, SEMH)
Strong behaviour management and classroom supervision skills
Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Ability to remain calm, patient, and adaptable
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA or Cover Supervisor training) are desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
