Engineering Lead – Pumps

A leading engineering services provider is seeking an experienced Engineering Lead to oversee its high‑integrity pumps operations. This senior role is for a technically skilled engineer with a strong background in rotating equipment design, modification, and maintenance.
The Role
You will lead the Alloa pumps engineering team, taking responsibility for planning, execution, and delivery of high‑integrity rotating equipment projects. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure product quality, performance, and customer satisfaction, while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence. This role combines hands‑on engineering expertise with leadership and mentoring responsibilities to develop team capability and ensure compliance with all HSEQ requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Alloa pumps engineering team, providing guidance, mentoring, and support.
* Coordinate and execute engineering tasks, including design, modification, and maintenance of rotating equipment.
* Ensure all work is completed on time, to specification, and to the highest HSEQ standards.
* Promote a culture of professionalism, openness, and continuous improvement.
* Prepare design reports, quality plans, and product definitions.
* Identify performance improvements and resolve engineering non‑conformance reports (NCRs).
* Liaise with customers and internal teams to ensure stakeholder satisfaction throughout project lifecycles.
* Maintain product integrity and compliance with company HSEQ policies.
Requirements
* Degree, HND, or equivalent in a related engineering design field.
* Proven experience in rotating equipment engineering, with a focus on pumps.
* Strong understanding of engineering design tools and software: SolidWorks, Geomagic Design X / Control X, Q‑Pulse QMS, Ansys CFD & FEA.
* Excellent leadership, mentoring, and delegation skills.
* Strong analytical, planning, and problem‑solving capabilities.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
* Commitment to HSEQ excellence and continuous improvement.
