We require an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist, interested in working in the Acute physical setting, to join our team. This role is suitable for new graduates and those looking to develop their higher Band 5 skills. You will be supported by experienced staff and have opportunities to develop both clinical and leadership skills.
Location and Rotation
The post is mainly based at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary (DGRI) within the Therapies Department. The rotational programme (6-monthly) allows skill development across various acute hospital specialties, including:
1. Medical / Surgical – including Emergency Department and Admissions Unit
2. Orthopaedics
3. Rehabilitation
4. Medicine for the Elderly
There is also an opportunity to rotate between DGRI and the Community Rehab Unit at Mountainhall Treatment Centre in Dumfries, delivering and developing rehabilitation services for outpatients and home-based patients.
Working Hours and Environment
The service provides a 7-day operation, with weekend work as part of an agreed rota, to be discussed at interview. We offer a friendly, supportive environment that encourages CPD, with supervision and appraisal through the TURAS system.
