Thisroleisidealforanengineerwithastrongmechanicalbackgroundwhoenjoysfaultfinding,hands-onrepairworkandworkingacrossvariedandcomplexequipment.YouwillbepartofaspecialistteamprovidingSubjectMatterExpertise(SME)acrossGroundSupportEquipment(GSE),developingengineeringsolutionstoensureequipmentismaintained,refurbishedandreturnedtoserviceinlinewithdefinedtechnicalandqualitystandards.
KeyResponsibilities
* Carryoutself-directedtesting,diagnostics,repair,maintenance,modification,calibrationandmanufactureofequipmentdowntomoduleandindividualcomponentlevelusingapprovedengineeringdocumentation.
* Performplannedandad-hocadvancedrepairsusingApprovedSourceInformation(ASI)orOEMtechnicaldata.
* Survey,refurbishandmaintainGroundSupportEquipment(GSE)torequiredstandards.
* Holdself-certification,over-signing,certifyingandconditioningresponsibilities,includingserviceable,unserviceableandscrapstatus.
* Supervise,trainandover-signworkcompletedbyjuniorstaff,equivalentgradesandapprentices.
* Supportfeasibilityanddevelopmentactivities,includingreverseengineeringandthecreationofengineeringdocumentationandtestprocedures.
* Providespecialisttechnicaladviceasrequired.
* UsearangeofengineeringandbusinessITsystems.
* Workwithinestablishedengineeringgovernanceframeworks,ensuringcompliancewithpolicies,proceduresandlegislation.
* Supporttheresolutionofurgentoperationalrequirements,particularlywhereOEMsupportisunavailable.
* Worktoagreedschedules,budgetsandqualitystandardswhilemaintainingastrongfocusonsafety.

EssentialSkills&Experience
* Previousexperienceinscheduledmaintenanceandrepairwithinanengineeringorworkshopenvironment.
* EligibilitytomeetthecriteriaforprofessionalregistrationasEngTechinlinewithUK-SPEC.
* Oneofthefollowingqualificationroutes:
* Level4engineeringqualificationwithanadvancedorhigherapprenticeship,or
* Level3engineeringqualification,anationallyrecognisedapprenticeship,plusrelevantengineeringexperience.
