CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist - East Sussex Community (£45k RRP)
Ouse Valley CAMHS Service (Lewes, Uckfield, Crowborough) offers a permanent Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) Consultant Psychiatrist position. This role plays an integral part in prioritising the delivery of a safe, effective and caring service for children and young people (0‑18 years).
The role includes a Recruitment and Retention payment of £45,000, structured over a three‑year period: £15,000 upon successful recruitment, £10,000 at 12 months, £10,000 at 24 months, and £10,000 at 36 months.
Main duties of the job
Provide high‑quality specialist clinical assessments and relevant psychiatric and physical investigations to children, young people and their families in a range of settings. Collaborate with nurses, psychologists, systemic family therapists, child psychotherapists, and other team members to plan and deliver tailored treatment plans.
Work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team. Participate in a Trust‑wide consultant network, attend division meetings and clinical governance meetings.

Person Specification
* MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
* Fully registered with the GMC and licensed to practise at appointment
* Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months
* In good standing with GMC, no warnings or conditions on practice
* Approved clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
Transport
* Holds and will use a valid UK driving licence or provides evidence of a proposed alternative
Clinical Skills, Knowledge & Experience
* Excellent knowledge in specialty and bio‑psycho‑social perspective
* Excellent clinical, oral and written communication skills in English
* Wide range of specialist and sub‑specialist experience relevant to NHS or comparable service
Academic Skills & Lifelong Learning
* Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training
* Ability to work in and lead a team
* Commitment to shared leadership and collaborative working to deliver improvement
* Continuous professional development participation
* Research or service evaluation participation

Annual salary: £113,565 to £150,569 (pro‑rata for part‑time working).
