Job Summary
The Defence College of Technical Training (DCTT) mission is to train and educate aeronautical engineering, electronic andmechanical engineering, and communications and information systemspersonnel and prepare them to operate in a combat environmentin order to meet the Defence requirement.
The DCTT Portfolio Office (PfO) Team manages the delivery of change projects and programmes across the College. This Office will ensure the appropriate level of governance is applied to all the change projects, monitor their progress against their schedules and ensure corrective actions and mitigations are applied to bring about successful delivery on time and within budget.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job Description
This is an exciting and high-profile post providing the post holder with regular exposure to senior level of communcations, and engagement with School Commandants. There will also be the opportunity to work with stakeholders across Air Command. Specifically the post holder will focus on the following key tasks:
* Schedule projects to time, cost & performance, inspiring others to deliver their best, holding the team accountable for their performance.
* Work with Project Managers & Stakeholders to create & maintain achievable, risk adjusted delivery plans & schedules.
Manage project inter–dependencies & constraints on scheduled activities, & work with the Programme Manager & PMO to identify & manage wider dependencies.
* Build professional & efficient relationships with stakeholders to ensure confidence in T3P is maintained & they are on-side.
* Support staffing of Business Cases through Air & Cabinet Office approvals as required.
* Develop and deliver briefing material to support Programme and Project Governance.
* Support the PMO in developing a Portfolio for DCTT and creating the Governance wrapper to manage delivery.
* The individual in this role will be required to support differing projects depending on the business needs. Individual may be required to undertake tasks in support of other teams within the programme. Tasks will be considered according to business priorities, the individual’s competences, skills & availability. There will be regular travel to other DCTT and Air Comd locations across the UK.

Essential Experience For The Post Is
* The individual must be able to demonstrate a successful track record & significant experience of project scheduling at different stages of the lifecycle.
* Expert in creating and updating schedules using MS Project.
Desirable Experience For The Post Is
* Experience in working within a project or programme environment is essential and/or qualifications in project or programme management (opportunities for formal qualifications will be available).
* Knowledge of the military training environment.
Desirable Qualifications For The Post Are
* APMP or PRINCE 2.
* Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) or willingness to complete the training.
* Defence Systems Approach to Training Manager (DSAT(M)) course.
* Full UK driving licence.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments.
