Robert Half is partnering with an innovative electronic trading platform operating within global financial markets to appoint a Trading Operations Analyst in London.
London | 4 days onsite
We are looking for a Trading Operations Analyst to join the team and play a key role in supporting trading operations, regulatory processes, and operational excellence.
This is a hands-on role in a dynamic environment, ideal for someone who enjoys working close to the trading lifecycle, regulatory infrastructure, and technology teams.
The Role:
You will support the day-to-day operations of a regulated trading venue and investment firm, ensuring smooth trade flow, strong operational controls, and effective regulatory reporting.
Working closely with Technology, Product, and Compliance teams, you will help maintain operational stability while contributing to ongoing improvements across trading workflows and reporting infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Trading Operations & Trade Flow
* Provide day-to-day operational support for trading activity, ensuring smooth execution flows and timely resolution of operational issues
* Act as first-line support for trade-flow interfaces and reporting processes, escalating complex issues to internal technology and operations stakeholders
* Support the setup and onboarding of new financial instruments and products on the trading platform
Client Onboarding
* Assist with client onboarding processes including operational, KYC, and AML documentation collection and validation
* Maintain onboarding checklists and ensure accurate configuration of clients and instruments across internal systems
Regulatory Monitoring & Controls
* Perform daily monitoring and first-line triage across key regulatory processes including:
* Pre-trade risk controls
* Pre- and post-trade transparency obligations
* Order record keeping
* Transaction reporting
* Instrument and transparency reference data
Reconciliations & Data Integrity
* Conduct periodic reconciliations across regulatory reporting datasets and record-keeping requirements
* Ensure high standards of data quality, operational documentation, and audit readiness
Market Surveillance Support
* Support Market Abuse monitoring processes, including daily alert reviews, documentation, and escalation procedures
* Assist in preparing evidence and documentation for suspicious transaction/order reporting where required
Operational Governance
* Maintain operational runbooks, process documentation, and control frameworks
* Log incidents, support root-cause analysis, and track remediation actions
Testing & Change Management
* Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for trade flow and regulatory reporting enhancements
* Create and execute test cases, document results, and support regression testing
Operational Reporting
* Produce operational MI reports covering volumes, exceptions, timeliness metrics, and KPIs
* Provide insights and commentary on trends and operational performance
Requirements:
* Experience in Trading Operations, Middle Office, or Regulatory Reporting within a trading venue, broker, investment firm, or market infrastructure provider
* Strong understanding (or the ability to quickly develop expertise) in regulatory frameworks
* Solid understanding of the trade lifecycle and market data processes, including exposure to:
* Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data interrogation) with the ability to produce operational reporting and MI
* Experience with workflow, ticketing, or operational monitoring systems is advantageous
* Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders
