Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician provides direct, hands‑on support to patients while working under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role is responsible for accurate documentation, monitoring dialysis treatment parameters, and assisting with pre‑ and post‑treatment assessments. The technician also responds to changing patient conditions and actively supports emergency procedures as needed.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
* Accurately document information related to patient treatment.
* Assist licensed nurses with pre‑ and post‑dialysis assessments and required documentation.
* Monitor and record dialysis treatment parameters on Dialysis Flow Sheets.
* Report significant patient condition changes to the supervisor.
* Assist with all emergency operational procedures.
* Initiate basic CPR measures during cardiac and/or pulmonary arrest.
* Respond to emergency situations related to dialysis treatment.
Required Experience
* Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis.
* Successfully complete CPR Certification.
* High School Diploma or GED.
Nice-to-Have Experience
* Previous patient care experience in a hospital or related facility.
* Education in physical sciences or laboratory techniques.
