The Role
In this role you are accountable for the on-site technical support services for Nu Heat customers.
Using your excellent customer service skills and technical knowledge you will be able to ensure that renewable heating systems are correctly installed and commissioned in line with company & industry guidance.
You will also ensure the longevity of Nu Heat systems through fault resolution, ongoing servicing and troubleshooting of systems, whilst always aiming to resolve the visit at the first time of asking.
As an organised and self-motivated individual, you will manage your own van, van stock and diary, whilst maintaining a high visit rate. You will also ensure that any post visit documentation is completed accurately and quickly to ensure a smooth journey for the customer.
Hours: 4 days per week (Monday - Thursday), 10.5 hrs per day, 42 hours per week.
Field Based - East of England. The successful candidate will ideally be based in or around Northamptonshire/Bedfordshire/Hertfordshire/Cambridgeshire.
Key Responsibilities
Site Based Technical Support Services
* Commission heat pump systems by checking the installation against the design, setting up the system according to commissioning documents, testing operation, and providing customer handover.
* Service systems in line with provided documentation and respond to customer queries.
* Troubleshoot system issues, identifying, resolving, and testing faults with the aim of first‑visit resolution.
* Communicate arrival times effectively and manage time on site.
* Build strong customer relationships to ensure an excellent Nu‑Heat experience.
* Maintain discretion and ensure sensitive company information is not discussed with customers.
* Complete and submit all post‑visit documentation accurately and on time.
* Participate in regulatory assessments aligned with Competent Person / Nominated Technical Person requirements.
* Keep up to date with all required training and certification.
* Manage van stock according to processes, keeping it up to date and accurate.
* Ensure any company‑supplied goods, including the van, are kept in a safe and presentable condition.
* Be willing to stay away an average of three nights per month, with increased stays during winter as required.
Other Duties
* To participate in the company’s appraisal process
* To undertake relevant development and training.
* To be responsible for the health and safety of self and others.
Key Skills & Knowledge:
* Excellent levels of customer service with well‑developed verbal and written communication skills.
* Minimum 3 years’ practical knowledge with qualifications in the heating or air‑conditioning industry.
* Current G3 qualification.
* Positive with a ‘can do’ attitude; able to remain calm, logical and methodical when working under pressure.
* Confident decision maker with a logical approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.
* Flexible and adaptable to meet business needs.
* Independent self‑starter, able to work remotely.

* Knowledge/experience in electrical installation (desirable).
* Experience in renewables (desirable).
