As Head of Property Compliance you’ll be leading the team that delivers strategic oversight and direction for activities which are designed to keep our customers safe in their homes. You’ll be a member of the Health & Safety leadership team, with responsibility for strategic property compliance whilst delivering a programme of assurance in relation to the compliance.
You’ll come to the role having built your career in property compliance, with the ability to deliver effective assurance in relation to compliance activities that are in line with statutory, regulatory and policy requirements.
A key responsibility for the role will be data validation alongside second line assurance of all compliance workstream operations, records and data.
Key accountabilities for the role will include –
* Delivering the property compliance and building safety strategic priorities and plans
* Agreeing, monitoring and being accountable for performance targets, ensuring the team have clear objectives that support the deliver of the strategic priorities
* Ensuring an effective property compliance 2nd line assurance function is in place
* Leading on the effective and compliant procurement of suitably qualified and high performing external suppliers of third-party compliance checks, effective contract mobilisation and effective contract performance management
* Supporting the wider business with advice and guidance on all property and building safety compliance related matters.
About you
You’ll come to the role professionally qualified in a construction or building safety related discipline at degree level or equivalent and will be able to demonstrate your relevant career experience.
You will have significant experience in managing the compliance aspects of a large social housing asset portfolio and working in social housing property compliance at senior manager or Head of Service level.
You’ll naturally lean toward a coaching style and will be able to use this to enhance the skills, knowledge and capability with your team and the wider business.
You won’t be phased by data analysis and will be able to extract and analyse data from large datasets. You’ll be able to spot trends and complete gap analysis, writing clear and concise reports and business cases to enable senior leaders to make fully informed strategic decisions.
You’ll understand how business activities in Procurement, Finance, ICT, Governance and Health and Safety can all play a part in great outcomes and you will be able to develop strong working relationships with these teams to ensure property compliance is a factor whenever appropriate.
This is a hybrid role and as such you can choose to base yourself mostly from home. There will be the need to attend meetings face to face from time to time so having a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes will be important.
Our operating region covers Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and London.
