Lifting Equipment Inspector (PUWER) – Midlands
£400 per day (outside IR35) + paid mileage + paid overnight accommodation (as required) + varied & interesting long-term contract work
We are looking to engage with an experienced Lifting Equipment Inspector (PUWER) on an ongoing contract basis to assist a variety of clients in managing their risks associated with large industrial machinery, mobile plant, lifting & access equipment etc.
For most projects, you will ideally be living in the Midlands & be willing to travel & overnight dependent on workload
Lifting Equipment Inspector (PUWER) responsibilities include:
* Carry out 2nd / 3rd party lifting machinery safety inspections under PUWER 1998 (L22 ACoP)
* Assess equipment compliance – including maintenance, inspection, training, and alignment with UKCA/EC directives
* Equipment for inspection can include Escalators, Lifts (Passenger & Goods), Elevated Mobile Work platforms, overhead Gantry Cranes, Travelators, Forklifts and more.
* Identify hazards during PUWER inspections and recommend appropriate control measures
* Write clear, action-focused reports with technical detail
* Support the quality and consistency of our Machinery Safety services
* Provide clients with innovative, effective safety solutions

Lifting Equipment Inspector (PUWER) profile:
* You hold a recognised Machinery Safety/PUWER inspection qualification (e.g. HSL) or equivalent experience / qualification
* You’ve completed (or are working towards) NEBOSH NGC or similar.
* You hold membership with IOSH or another relevant body
* You have working knowledge of Machinery Risk Assessments to include Escalators, Lifts (Passenger & Goods), Elevated Mobile Work platforms, overhead Gantry Cranes, Travelators and more.
* You’re experienced in writing technical reports (e.g. PUWER, LOLER)
* You’re confident with Microsoft Office and mobile tech for reporting
* You hold a full UK driving licence & have use of your own car
