SEN Teaching Assistant
About the role
Teach Now is recruiting for a number of dedicated and compassionate SEN teaching assistants to join a highly supportive and inclusive specialist school in Newham this September.
This is more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to make a profound difference in the lives of children and young people with complex needs, including autism, ADHD, and behavioural challenges. The school supports students across all age groups and has four well-resourced sites, each with a welcoming, family-like atmosphere where staff are truly valued.
As an SEN TA, you will work 1:1 or in small groups to support pupils with a range of needs. You’ll collaborate with a team of experienced teachers, therapists, and support staff to create a safe, consistent, and nurturing learning environment.
The ideal candidate will have
• a current child and adult enhanced DBS
• experience supporting students with SEN or a background in care
• a solid understanding of behaviour management strategies
• flexibility to work across the school’s four Newham-based sites
• commitment to full-time work (5 days per week), without term-time leave
• a professional, reliable, and patient attitude
• a willingness to support with personal care where required
• excellent written and verbal communication skills
In return, you’ll be joining a school that places well-being and development at the heart of everything they do—for both staff and students. The leadership team is incredibly supportive, offering mentoring and CPD to help you grow your career in special education.
This is a fantastic opportunity to build your expertise, feel genuinely appreciated, and make every day count.
