Job Title: Production Engineer

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday (office / site-based)

Key Responsibilities:

Analyse and improve existing production processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
*
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensure smooth transition from design to manufacturing.
*
Identify and resolve production issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
*
Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flows, and risk assessments.
*
Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives including Lean, Kaizen, and 5S.
*
Provide technical engineering support to production teams on the shop floor.
*
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality, throughput, and reliability.
*
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards in all processes.
*
Work closely with design, quality, and maintenance teams to optimise equipment performance.
*
Mentor and support two junior team members in their development.
*
Collaborate across engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure high standards and efficiency.
Essential Requirements:
*
Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering (or related discipline).
*
Proven experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role.
*
Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools.
*
Strong problem-solving skills with a structured, analytical approach.
*
Excellent collaboration skills across various teams (engineering, production, quality).
*
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desirable Experience:
*
Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
*
Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001.
*
Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI).
*
Experience within electronic or precision manufacturing environments.
Salary: £35,000-£40,000 (negotiable for the right candidate)
